Ladies and Gentlemen, It is unfortunate to have to bring problems to the Mayor and Board for which you have departments in the City that should be handling the problems listed below. We, the tenants and owners of MGZ, Inc., have filed complaints about the construction company's operations from the time they began building to no avail. The City has a Code Enforcement department that should be handling complaints against construction during restricted times but have apparently chosen not to enforce the City's own laws and restrictions about noise and construction. I know the City has a lot to gain (GRU bills online and City taxes on the books mostly) by getting these Units in Eagle Trace Townhomes constructed as quickly as possible, however this is no excuse to totally ignore the current residents of an existing neighborhood by not enforcing City Ordinances. The owners of the property that are in violation are Trace Holdings of Gainesville, LLC (CBRE Holdings 7, LLC, 200 S Andrews Ave, #402, Ft. Lauderdale, FL) and Trace Holdings 2, LLC. (NEW Commercial - Michael E Warren, 502 NW 16th Ave, Gainesville, FL ). I know that Mike Warren yields a lot of control in this town but that is no excuse to ignore the violations made by his company's contractors nor does it permit him to cause problems in this neighborhood. The City officials need to protect all their citizens and insure the citizen's individual rights to peaceful enjoyment of their homes. Attached please find only the latest violations. I know we brought up the parking problem with the construction workers to you before, however lately there has been a problem with construction noise in the middle of the night. Recently they have started work before 3:00 a.m. with large trucks and motors pouring concrete at the building site across from us, revving engines, churning cement trucks, worker commotion, clattering, etc. One of our neighbors even called the police. As far as we know, Gainesville has a noise ordinance from 10pm to 8am. Please see the attached pictures with timestamp for documentation. Secondly, there's been a string of break-ins and car burglary in the neighborhood including this past Saturday night into Sunday. We would like to know what is being done from the HOA to prevent those breakings from continuing to happen. This is becoming quite worrisome which is now causing us to increase personal and property security measures. See attached a video of the latest incident. We have a slew of recommendations on how to make the neighborhood safer. This is a problem that is now not only affecting us but affecting many of our neighbors and the community as a whole. We would be happy to speak with you and the HOA directly to discuss possible security measures to curtail and deter future incidents like this. We would also like to know what is being done to move construction times to a later time. 3am is beyond unreasonable.
