Sterling Place HOA Board President Bender, Mark,

Thanks for this info. The arid conditions make it essential to consider proactive or mitigating measures like you write about.

Tell me or call & tell me a little more -  do you know if it was City, County, or park staff a few years ago? ...& any context would be helpful so I can route directly if known. Regardless I am going to forward to the City Chief of Staff to route to appropriate personnel - uncertain if that is fire, public works, our arborist of some collaboration.

It is likely you will get a call this coming week.

Sorry about delay in responding - I have been traveling quite a bit over this last week & am catching up on email. My direct City line is below should you need it.

(...& you're in good company with Holly so I did not hold it against you. She has my cell phone if calling is easier :)    )

Subject: [EXTERNAL] San Felasco Park

Hi Ed, hope you are doing well. I few years ago San Felasco Park was planned/scheduled for a prescribed burn. There was prework completed in preparation, meetings took place and we were told when conditions were acceptable the burn would be completed. Most of our Sterling Place community is surrounded by San Felasco park. The burn was never able to be done that winter or any of the subsequent winters. We have been in contact with Cully Lord from the City of Gainesville.
Obviously with the current conditions the residents here are very concerned if there were to be a fire since we are in very close proximity to the park.
We would appreciate whatever you can do to look into the prescribed burn situation and advocate for it to be planned.

Thank you,
Mark Bender
