No emails are provided for the Development Review Board. However, you are listed as the staff liaison to the Development Review Board, so I expected our concerns be shared with those board members as well. Otherwise, this is dismissing our concerns. You are aware a sign giving notice was not posted until Thursday. This is not the proper notification required. We request this hearing be rescheduled until required notification has been given. I am a resident of Weschester subdivision directly across from the proposed development on NW 43rd Street. Our neighborhood has not been kept informed nor noticed properly regarding the changes to the proposed development. It was our understanding from January, 2023 that the development would simply be a trailhead and some parking. Recently, via the news and not proper notification from the City, we learned that the development will now include an office building complex, public restrooms, a pole barn, a nursery, gas pumps, etc. which totals approximately 8 acres. This property was purchased by the City and County several years ago under the Wild Spaces/Public Places surtax revenue, which states "the tax revenue will be used to acquire and improve lands for conservation, wildlife habitat, water quality, and recreation". The proposed development does not seem to meet this criteria and will damage the current habitat for wildlife (deer, turkey, foxes, turtles, etc.) that we see every day when entering or exiting our neighborhood. Developing 8 acres of woodlands for an office building, pole barn, staff parking, gas pumps and storage, is not conserving a wildlife habitat and water quality. In addition, the current speed limit on NW 43rd is 55 mph. Having a larger intersection with staff from these offices coming and going throughout the day will in some opinions, create a dangerous traffic situation with cars pulling out from our neighborhood and the proposed office complex at the same time, especially during the busy morning and after work hours. It currently takes our homeowners several minutes to exit our neighborhood due to the high-speed traffic. Due to the lack of proper notification and changes to the proposed development which do not coincide with what the tax payers of this County and City voted for, we respectfully ask that this proposed development be denied. HOA Board Member/Treasurer Weschester Subdivision, Gainesville This part of my message has not been addressed: Of concern, there was no notice of this meeting anywhere near the Weschester entrance. This is the neighborhood right across from the proposed projects. This substantial impacts the 415 homeowners that live there, and prevents them being informed of any meetings. I overall have legitimate concerns regarding the lack of notifications and communication to homeowners and parties over the years that are directly impacted by these proposed projects. In January 2023, a presentation regarding the intent to put a parking lot to access trails was given at one of our HOA annual meetings. No mention of building offices or a compound was given to us. Since then, I have gone out of my way in attempt to stay informed by reaching out to appropriate parties 3 times over the years giving them my contact info, yet nothing has ever been received. Our HOA has also never received information or updates. Updates have been given on Tom Petty park, people are notified about possible development near Paynes Prairie Preserve, but no communication of this project on a preserve?? Board Member of Weschester HOA Hi, Is a meeting regarding the Land Conservation area off NW 43rd Street & across from the Weschester neighborhood scheduled to have a public hearing on July 22 at 6:30 pm? A few days ago, there was a sign posted near the Burberry entrance that is now gone. Has it been rescheduled? Of concern, there was no notice of this meeting anywhere near the Weschester entrance.
