Hi,

Myself and others have complained about this issue through codes, emails and the GNV app. We are being ignored. The code officer claims there are no violations. There are. Photos attached.

  1. Someone is charging food trucks to park on what appears to be public property. If it isn't public property the use violates the zoning for the parcel.
  2. One of the food trucks has been parked on the right away for months without moving. They open to sell food and leave the trailer behind.
  3. There are upwards of 5 food trucks on the lot at any given time. Even if it were zoned for food trucks, the lot size doesn't allow for that many food trucks.
  4. There are visual issues for traffic,  depending on where the trucks are parked at the time.
  5. Some of the seating appears to be on public property.

Google has five food trucks whose addresses are at 5310 NW 8th Ave. That's more than the primary use businesses.

Seating is not handicapped accessible. There are no barriers to protect patrons sitting at the tables. This is one of the busiest traffic areas in Gainesville. If an accident happens there patrons at the seating could be hurt.

In videos from one of the food trucks, there appears to be open beer cans on the tables and red solo cups. This is at night.

If zoning and codes aren't going to be enforced for food trucks or certain property owners, then all property owners should be made aware of that. Then they can have food trucks or whatever business activity on their property without consequences. Let food trucks know that they can park on public property without permits or licenses or insurance. Tell property owners adjacent to public property that they can charge rent for it and nothing will be done.

I actually like DJ's, but they should not be there every day.

There are food truck parks and zoned parcels where they can set up.
