Dear Gainesville City Commission and Mayor,

Thank you for the transparency with Tom Petty Park upgrades. We frequently use the dog park and tennis courts at Tom Petty Park. I would like to voice my support for either no parking expansion or at most a brief parking survey of the park which I am certain will find no need for parking expansion. We have lived in the area for over twenty years and cannot remember a time when there wasn't ample parking at Tom Petty Park. At the very least, please share the rationale for any parking expansion. Green space has value. Parking expansion is unnecessary, would contribute to heat island effect and creates more impermeable surface with runoff issues for unclear benefit.
