Chief of Staff,

Below email thread concerns consideration of increasing power supply/grid for Downtown businesses near S Main Street.

I have no knowledge / expertise in this arena.

I believe the best persons to speak/address Broker President Loeffler are likely the GCRA Director or Special Advisor Singleton however defer to you.

Please forward as you see fit to the best contact & ask that you have someone speak with him.

No report back to me needed. Thank you.

Broker President Loeffler, Todd,

Thanks for contacting me. Does seem like an interesting proposition to improve power capability in that area.

I am out of my expertise. I think the best contacts to start with are our GCRA Director Rick Smith &/or Special Advisor to the City Manager (handles public works, infrastructure etc) Brian Singleton.

Would you like to try to contact them directly or have me forward?

Hi Ed,

We own the building located at 16 & 20 S Main St, which is adjacent to the site of the new downtown streetery. We've been renovating and are looking for a suitable tenant, but we've encountered an issue with the current power supply, which isn't sufficient for a full-service restaurant.

We attended the City of Gainesville's planning workshop recently and noted that the entire road will be removed and reconstructed. We were hoping to learn if there are any plans to include an upgraded power feed across the street during this process, or perhaps at least install a conduit that we could utilize.

The primary expense for us to upgrade the power is the underboring required to bring it across the street. It seems this would be an ideal opportunity to provide all the properties in this "opportunity zone" with the necessary infrastructure to enhance the downtown area.

I am bringing this to your attention because I did hear you speak at a commission meeting about wanting to help with the infrastructure in this area.

Thanks for your time and any information you can provide.

Best regards,
