Kayla-

I have copied our EPD department and the health department here.  One of them should be able to point you in the direction of how to get your water tested. I agree this should be readily available in the GRU website given their recent mailers to household la regarding lines possibly containing lead.

Sincerely,
Anna

Dear Alachua County Health Department and GRU,
I have already read the resources and websites online - state, local, and federal.  I keep being sent round and round in circles. This information should be publicly available, yet nobody is answering my original question:

If I want to get tap water tested, what is a reliable test, where can I get it, where is a certified lab for me to send it, how much does it cost, and how long does it take?

GRU is the entity that sent a letter advising us to be aware about our service lines and interior plumbing, and our local Health Departments are supposed to be able to tell us what labs can process our tap water tests. So where is the information we need?

Thank you,
Kayla Susan Sosnow

Hi there,
I just read your notice to me about service lines. My house was built in 1935.

However, a new tenant just moved into another of my houses that was built in 1961, so that is the one I'm concerned about. I ran across this site while searching. https://www.gru.com/My-Home/Products-Services/Water/Water-Samples. If these houses aren't on the list to be sampled, does that mean they're safe?

If I want to get the water tested, what is a reliable test, where can I get it, where is a certified lab for me to send it, how much does it cost, and how long does it take?

Thanks very much,
Kayla Sosnow
