Tedgier@mac.com,

Appreciate that Codes has quickly responded & as the District 2 commissioner (which is why I think you copied me), I like to be apprised.

I would recommend providing enough identifying info for them to initiate a case & determine if a violation. (This is by State Statute.) You can provide via email or in this app - myGNV - easy to submit right on a computer or download to a phone.

I have used several times for concerns like this & you receive reports back - a good method of accountability.

It has worked well for me.

Hope this info helps.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out with this information. We would need to see whether or not it was temporary sign and met the regulations for temporary signs based on the location – Section 30-9.5 (A).

If you would like, a code complaint can be initiated and we can send a Code Enforcement officer out to investigate based on the information provided. Please note that per Florida State Statute, code complaints cannot be anonymous and the complainants full name and address must be provided. If you would like us to get a complaint submitted in the system for investigation, please provide the information above and we would be happy to assist.

It looks like the fence may be on 1925 NW 39th Ter parcel 06391-008-000 and or possibly the neighboring property at 1930 NW 38th Dr.

Please let me know how you would like to proceed,

Hi, this sign in the photo has been in place for a few weeks. Is the property owner allowed to have a commercial billboard on this site?  It is on the corner of NW 16th Blvd and NW 39th Terr.

Gainesville Code

ARTICLE IX. - SIGNS

Sec. 30-9.7 (C)

C.

Freestanding, permanent. Except where otherwise specifically provided, permanent freestanding signs may be permitted as follows. However, permanent freestanding signs shall not be permitted on single-family residential properties.

Thanks for checking into this.
