Good afternoon Chief Commissioner and SF College Executives. As I’m sure you’re aware yesterday SFPD arrested a student who had masks and loaded guns in his bag. I’d like to request you release statements on this matter, or release a conjoining statement. Many students are justifiably concerned about this incident. Their concern increases due to the Alachua County Jail confirming to me that the perpetrator has been released on bond. There are a couple pieces of information that should be included and questions that should be answered: Does SFPD believe that Jordan Tucker intended to commit a shooting? How many days do you believe he was carrying around these guns? We’re all the firearms Tucker’s property or were any belonging to the gun store he worked at, or anyone else? Are the firearms seized still in possession of SFPD? Does Tucker have an order to not posses firearms or any weapons? How can we be certain Tucker doesn’t have more firearms in his possession at his residence? Will you be increasing security measures around the school and what will that look like? The arrest report states body cam footage is available. Can you please provide that or release it publicly? I understand it’s a long weekend and a holiday is coming up but due to the seriousness of this matter I’d appreciate a statement as soon as possible as both a journalist and a student here. Thank you, Jack Walden Journalist GnvInfo.com |
