A federal judge ruled Wednesday that the Gainesville Regional Utilities Authority Board cannot be dissolved until the outcome of its lawsuit against the city, even if voters approve the referendum on the November ballot.

Temporary injunction granted to block GRU ballot proposal - WCJB

A judge granted a temporary injunction this evening over a motion to block Gainesville's GRU ballot proposal. Gainesville’s referendum is still on the ballot, but even if it passes, it cannot take effect until Judge George Wright makes a final ruling on it.
