Business owners are being encouraged to reach out about the Downtown Advisory Board's vote to reopen SW 1st Ave for customer access and the possibility of library parking. As you know, I am in support of both. 

It's fair to say at this point that the Streatery has failed to benefit downtown as a whole. It's too hot and the heat in Florida is predicted to last longer and start earlier moving forward. Continuing the closure is an undue burden upon customers and the businesses they frequent.

I also understand that the Downtown Advisory Board would like to reverse the city's decision to implement paid parking in August. I fully support this decision as well. We share the belief that free customer access is key to business downtown.
