Scott,

Depot Park closes each night to the public at 11 p.m. Camping and overnight sleeping is not permitted by City Ordinance. I will share this information with Parks administration and our homeless team of GFR, GPD, and Codes for any additional follow-up. Additionally, the City is currently considering hiring a company to provide Downtown Ambassadors to provide additional safety, security, and street outreach support which would include Depot Park. Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions.

Thank you,

Andrew

Hello again, I asked Kara last week about the conditions of Depot Station in relation to people staying/ sleeping in the Depot Park   I have not heard back.  Is the City allowing people to stay overnight on Park property?  The photos sent to Kara show multiple people sleeping overnight in the Park.  We need guidance and help here.  The first email below came in this morning from our Events Director.  I have personally experienced this when checking in the mornings.  The second email is my June 6th email to Kara.  We need communication here.  We are now asking for the 7th time to have a meeting with City Manager Curry.

Hi Scott,

Again, this weekend, we had a situation with human feces on the cement pad near the handicap ramp to Depot Station. On Saturday, June 14th, our events assistant found the feces and soiled toilet paper. We had a +$7500 event starting up shortly after they found this mess.

The mess left over for the houseless people is becoming worse and worse. It is something the Depot staff have to deal with on a weekly basis, but sometimes these things aren't caught right away and customers see these messes. It is not good for business.

Thank you for bringing this issue to the City's attention.

Best,

Bailey Bruce

Hello Kara. Two items thank you.

We have requested a meeting with City Manager Curry 6 times in the last few months about ongoing Depot Station AC issues. We have received no response / no meeting appointment.  Do you know why this is?

As a leaser of City space adjacent to Depot park we would like to understand how the City is handling people sleeping overnight in the Depot Park.  Is it allowed?  Or not?  There has been an uptick of people staying in park and on our rented space since the City shut down 2 areas in downtown where people were staying in tents.    Just want to understand what the City is allowing in the Park as it directly affects how we manage our space.

Thank you for your time

Scott

Good afternoon, Scott-

I have sent all of the invoices along with an analysis to Andrew and am awaiting guidance on the amount to credit.

Once I receive approval, I am ready to ask for a check to be cut for that amount from Accounts Payable.

Thank You!

Kara

Hello to all - Hoping for an update to our last email.  David is the AC system at Depot Station completely fixed?  Kara can I get an update on the refunds requested?

Appreciate,

Scott/Depot Station

Thank you David and all,

The clarity of what we are discussing is part of us all understanding how long Parkside Store at Depot Station has been without a proper working AC unit.  The issue is from November 2022.  Though there is a hope as described by David that a redundancy is in place, we have been without a large portion of cooling for all of last year 2023. understanding the heat generated by several compressors from our coolers combined with doors opening in the heated months, I can attest that the redundancy of units do not provide proper cooling for the Parkside Store room during summer.  The redundancy is not affective and in fact negatively affected our cooler operations, product loss, staff comfort, and overall business last year.  We have experienced full outages causing closures which affected income. To this day we have not received any credit requested, from full system failures.  Nor any reimbursement from our lease $500 cap on expense to AC occurrence.  Kara can communicate what we have patiently been requesting, and how long we have been requesting it.  One of our main complaints in restructuring our lease was the City’s inability to refund or credit when due.  The City informed us they had fixed this.  As a landlord, it is important for the City to have this process.  Otherwise our only option as Lease holders is to pull these costs out of our monthly rent.

Thank you,

Scott

Scott;

You are pretty close with your assessment on our issues.

As to the alarm, I am unsure on that. I am creating a work order for our techs to check the unit out to ensure it did not turn off during the fire alarm testing.

Hello David, the issue as I understand it renders the main unit in the Parkside store inoperable.  It has been explained that by turning up the other 2 units (old bike shop and kitchen area) that the hope is that those two units can compensate the loss of the Parkside store unit being down.  This is how it has been explained -Is this correct?  Best if we all understand what’s going on here.

thank you

Good morning Scott;

The system is operational and maintaining temperatures correctly.  We are not aware of any recent issues with his system maintaining appropriate temperatures in the space.  We do however, have additional work that we need to do to the system and are waiting for a part that has been backordered. We have been told to expect availability mid to late February. There is a redundancy on this system, we have the section isolated so as not to trigger a fault. This should not be affecting the tenants comfort level or ability to provide services to their customers.

Hello David, I sent out a message twice in the last two months asking if the Depot Station AC unit that has been broken since November of 2022 has been fixed and wether all systems are fully operational.  Can you please update us on this current AC status.   Thank you much.
