Commissioner Book, Thanks for your response, however this does not address my intentions. I have tried to resolve my issues with GRU staff to no avail. All I get is excuses and no attempts to actually address the issues. I would ask that you re read my email or simply call me at 352-682-5058, and I will be more than happy to share my experiences. I am writing you once again in reference to my unfortunate dealings with GRU. I know there has been a lot of things going on at present with GRU and sadly can understand why. A couple of years ago now, I contacted GRU, then you the city commission in reference to a badly estimated meter reading and charge , which they admit was a bad reading. So much so that the GRU representative I spoke to said that with that reading he was unable to even determine what my normal readings would be. They never made any restitution or discount on any bill to correct a charge that was 3 times what it normally would be. I have had other simular issues which I have contacted GRU about and they , as they did recently, only give excuses and ask you to do things that will in no way retify the issue. My name is Rodney Samuel and I am referring to account #2000-7906-9216.. I live alone and have extremely low usages since I turn things off and utilize very little gas, water or power. This is evident by a specialist that GRU sent by a year or so ago, that confirmed that I am very efficient, so is my home. My gas usage and charge for May 2024 was more than it has been before and there is absolutely NO reason for that to be. I contacted GRU and their only suggestion was to take a picture of the meter, which I did, but there is no way for me to attach and send it to them. I also expressed that I see no way that can resolve my issue, no matter what the meter reads, unless it was a bad read or they somehow got the reading confused with another. I am begging for sometype of resolve. I know that I have many elderly family and friends that are in contact with me and monitoring this situation, being they have experiened simular, but cannot respond as I do.
