School Choice Champions Successful in South Carolina Primaries
AFC Victory Fund, a national Super PAC affiliated with the American Federation for Children and dedicated to electing pro-school choice champions, celebrates South Carolina’s pro-school choice candidates for their victories in Tuesday’s primary election.
Tuesday’s election demonstrates voters’ strong support for candidates who championed and expanded education freedom during the 2023 and 2024 legislative sessions. By re-electing those legislators who stood with families and passed school choice legislation, voters sent the same clear message of support for education freedom in South Carolina as is evident across the country.
AFC Victory Fund executed a robust independent expenditure campaign to support the state’s education freedom advocates, reaching tens of thousands of voters in crucial districts.
Statement from Ryan Cantrell, Vice President of Government Affairs:
"The clear support for pro-school choice candidates in South Carolina is a testament to the importance of education freedom for families. Special interests may try to block progress, but the determination of parents to have a say in their children's education is undeniable. We will keep working alongside parents and lawmakers to secure and expand school choice in the Palmetto State."
AFC Victory Fund supported the following school choice champions who now advance to the general election in November:
- HD 33 - Rep. Travis Moore
- HD 43 - Rep. Randy Ligon
- HD 45 - Rep. Brandon Newton
- HD 87 - Rep. Paula Calhoon
Additionally, Jason Elliott (SD 6) finished first in his race and advances to a runoff on June 25.
