Congratulations to the Class of 2024!

We are so excited to announce that 55 students will be awarded a Senior Scholarship and 50 students will receive a 60-credit Florida Prepaid Scholarship through Take Stock in Children - a total value of $512,900 in scholarships.

100% of our Take Stock in Children graduating seniors have been accepted to a college or university!

Welcome Jaqualia Newsome and Bobbi Gonzales

Jaqualia Newsome
Program Assistant and Database Specialist.

Jaqualia Newsome is a Take Stock Almuna class of 2016, she graduated from Santa Fe College in 2017 with an AA in Agriculture from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a dual concentration in Quantitative Analysis and Global Studies and a minor in Humanities.

Jaqualia is super excited to be working for the Foundation that impacted so much of her life. She realized she had to come full circle after helping with the Episcopal Children Services and playing a role on their policy council. In her free time, she enjoys making candles, and gaming.
Bobbi Gonzales
Grant and Program Director

Bobbi was born and raised in the Gainesville community. She has spent the last seven years as an elementary teacher. She is continuing her education to receive a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership in September 2024. Bobbi has worked with the Education Foundation on many projects as the Co-Chair of the Alachua County Teacher Leadership Council. Bobbi spends her time with her husband and daughter while planning trips to Disney! Utilizing her background in education and leadership, she hopes to continue to impact Alachua County teachers and student.
ElevatED Teacher Conference Registration closes Friday, May 24th, 2024
ElevatED is a teacher-led conference for teachers in Alachua County. At this conference, teachers throughout Alachua County have the opportunity to learn from one another and collaborate through breakout sessions and discussions. There will be giveaways and a coffee bar and lunch will be provided.

This professional development opportunity is being brought to you by the ACPS Teacher Leadership Council and sponsored by The Education Foundation of Alachua County.
